New York Fashion Week Ready-To-Wear Fall 2013 Collection Recap

This season, New York Fashion Week was characterized by not only some of the brightest colors in the spectrum, but also the return of classic colors such as black and white. Designers from Oscar de la Renta to Monique Lhuilier featured beautiful and colorful designs which proved to us all that color shouldn't only be worn in the summer, but to be enjoyed all year long.

Kate Spade New York

Always playful and whimsical, the Kate Spade New York collection featured lady-like pieces, but with its own twist: color and polka-dots! My favorite? The donut sweater.

When you think of the word camo, either two things come to mind: the army and/or the camo print cargo shorts boys used to wear in 5th grade. I mean, EVERYONE had them. However, as it’s popularity decreased throughout the years, the camo print was thought of as tacky as close-toed Fisherman sandals (which I shamefully admit to have worn once).

Prabal Gurung for Target

As I flipped through the thick pages of Vogue, I stumbled upon one of the most beautiful things my eyes have ever seen, a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress. “Oh my gosh,“ I gasped. From that moment on, I couldn’t picture my life without it. A simple white dress adorned with colorful, abstract beading all over the dress. It was beautiful! It was perfect! It was $795?!?!

Spring fashion blooms at Mason

Spring has finally arrived in northern Virginia, which means goodbye North Face jackets, Ugg boots and comfy pea coats, at least until the cold weather comes back. Some trends coming up for the spring are floral print tanks and tee’s, chiffon tops, ruffled dresses and loose, flowy cardigans. Skinny jeans and ballet flats for ladies are a must, but vests and flared jeans are making a big comeback this season. A lot of trends right now are based on a boho-chic style.

Students talk about fashion at Mason

When the season changes everyone notices that styles change as well, so C2M interviewed several students on their Fall fashion. Practicality and personal preference dominated majority of each student's clothing.
