Mason business program provides opportunities to students

Between the business incubator program and the recent deal with Autonomous University of Nuevo León overseen by the State Department, the Mason Enterprise Center (MEC is becoming an integral part of Mason’s image. According to the Mason strategic plan, the Mason Enterprise Center’s role is to supply small business owners with counseling, training, networking, mentoring, and temporary office space. The university-based economic development enterprise provides business owners with access to resources to help them develop their companies. Beyond aiding businesses, the MEC has recently been making an effort to connect with Mason students.  

Mason looking to extend economic development program to Fauquier County

After successful trials in Fairfax and Leesburg, the Mason Enterprise Center may soon be partnering with Fauquier County to establish a business incubator program.

Fauquier County Economic Development Director Miles Friedman outlined three potential sites for the program, which is designed to assist startup companies by providing office space and other services.

 The County Board of Supervisors expressed support for the program, but decided to wait for a more detailed financial outline before committing to funding.

Mason Enterprise Center hosts open house for new renovations

The Mason Enterprise Center held an open house to showcase completed renovations of its facility.

“Our primary goal is to support the needs of growing companies,” said Keith Segerson, executive director of MEC. “We provide the tools, insights and infrastructure businesses need to succeed in the ever-changing and competitive marketplace.”
