Invisible Children GMU welcomes up-and-coming musicians for benefit show

On Tuesday, Feb.12, George Mason University’s chapter of the non-profit Invisible Children hosted a free benefit show. The event showcased music by three up and coming performers including student artist, Miranda Lapides, the Great American Canyon Band and California-based band, Branches.

Q&A: Local musican Gideon Grove comes to Fairfax's Jammin' Java

Whenever I begin interviews, I never start with the first question. Instead,  the interview starts with research. In this case listening to Gideon Grove’s new album “Wildfires” (available on iTunes) which was released in November 2012 was my research. Grove will be performing on Friday, January 25 at Fairfax’s Jammin’ Java at 8 p.m.

Open mic night series gets new location

Since its opening in November 2012, The Ridge, located between the Sandbridge and Blue Ridge dorms, has served as a study lounge and a place for students to relax and interact with one another.

The Ridge has served as a prime location for a wide range of functions and activities due to its size and convenient location in the Rappahannock neighborhood.

This semester The Ridge will begin to host as an open mic venue for Mason students.

The Vienna Boys Choir comes to Mason

Steeped in history, the Vienna Boys Choir is perhaps one of the oldest thriving choirs in the world. The choir will be performing at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts on Friday, Dec. 14. They will be performing traditional Christmas carols in English as well a variety of other languages to accompany their program.
