"Justice for victims. Justice for all." This is the slogan of the 2008 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. As a part of this week, lasting April 13-19, Mason will hold a 5K walk/run in collaboration with the Aimee Willard Endowment Scholarship Fund.
Aimee Willard, a former George Mason University student athlete, was raped and killed on June 20, 1996 on the Blue Route in Philadelphia. Over the past 12 years, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week has been sponsoring the run to raise money and awareness. All of the proceeds will go to the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) program and Sexual Assault Services Victims of Violence fund.
This year the 5K run/walk will be held on Tuesday, April 15 at noon. Late registration begins at 10:30 a.m. Download the registration form here or pick one up in SUB I, Room 205 or at any Sexual Assault Services kiosk in the Johnson Center.
Sponsors for this event include the Army ROTC, Office of Housing & Residence Life, Intercollegiate Athletics, Sexual Assault Services, and the University Police Department.
