Zachary Golden
Junior government and international politics major, running for Student Government president.
Golden served this year as secretary of university services under Student Government President Drew Shelnutt. He has also been a shift manager at Starbucks in the past. During his first year at Mason he was a member of the policy debate team. He is a member of the College Democrats.
Claire Forman
Junior global affairs and latin American studies major, with a minor in Economics. She is running for Student Government vice president.
Forman has been a Resident Adviser and a Mason Ambassador for the past two years. Last semester, she was an intern with the Women’s Edge Coalition (now Women Thrive Worldwide). In July 2006, she studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina as part of a Mason Global Education program. Last summer, she lived in Honduras for three months and worked in an orphanage. She works for Fairfax County Public Schools as a Spanish tutor.
They are sponsored by the University Mall t-shirt store, Suit Up, which gave them a small discount on their t-shirts in exchange for printing store advertisers on the back of the shirts. Golden and Forman say that this is the only sponsor support they have, but have raised about $1,000 in personal donations.
