Tonight kicks off the first weekend of the fall semester with Mason’s annual IVth Night, hosted by the Office of Student Involvement. This event was named IVth Night in honor of George Mason himself, whose full name was George Mason IV. The event will showcase student talent as well as school spirit.

A small pep rally, led by the Masonettes and the Cheer Squad, will kick off the event. A performance by a fellow student DJ will follow the event. Doc Nix will be teaching the fight song.

IVth Night offers something for everyone, whether you're after prizes and freebies or just kicking back to celebrate the end of the first week. Later in the night, there will be a smoothie bar and an oxygen bar in the “Served Chilled” lounge available to all students.

Over 20 local vendors, such as Coyote Grill, Zoe’s Kitchen, Pure Barre Fairfax and Mary Kate, will be handing out coupons, samples and more. Another local favorite, Marlowe Ink Tattoos, will be offering $50-$100 certificates for those who can last the longest on the provided mechanical bull.

The night will end with raffle drawings on the two major prizes offered -  two pairs of premium, Bob Marley-brand headphones. Free t-shirts will also be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure to get there on time. The event will start at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. on the North Plaza.
