Patriot Revealed as Mason's New Mascot

The new mascot for George Mason University was revealed tonight. As some guessed, it is a Patriot sporting green and gold face paint.
A competition will be held to name Gunston's replacement. According to GoMason.com, "its name should reflect the spirit of the University, Athletics and the patriotic roots of the founding father for whom we are named." To submit a name, either click here or text the word "mascot" and then your suggestion to 96943 by December 17.

Unoriginal
I think it's completely unoriginal. It looks like a cheap mixture of any other schools Mascot and bad Braveheart makeup. Mason always claims to pride itself on being unique and different. And the school already tried to use the patriot as it's mascot then decided it didn't represent the schools diversity.

I think he is just what we need, the smile is a bit odd but overall it makes us look more legit.

I loved the new mascot! 10 billion times better than Gunston. Where are pictures?!?!?

Pictures will be posted as soon as we get them... game nights are chaotic. Thanks for sharing your opinion! I'm not sure which I like better, personally.
