Prabal Gurung for Target

As I flipped through the thick pages of Vogue, I stumbled upon one of the most beautiful things my eyes have ever seen, a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress. “Oh my gosh,“ I gasped. From that moment on, I couldn’t picture my life without it. A simple white dress adorned with colorful, abstract beading all over the dress. It was beautiful! It was perfect! It was $795?!?!

Once my heart retained its normal heart-beat, I couldn’t help but feel frustrated by the fact that I would never have the beautiful Phillip Lim dress. As I checked my bank account to see if anyone had accidentally deposited $795 in to my account (it could happen!), I asked myself if I would ever have a designer piece that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

The answer came to me in the form of a Prabal Gurung for Target commercial.

Designer Prabal Gurung has partnered up with Target to create a collection that will undoubtedly satisfy savvy fashionistas everywhere with a romantic collection, perfect for Valentine’s Day! The collection will feature various items apart from clothing such as shoes, jewelry and ornate handbags. And GET THIS: all of the items in the collection (excluding the leather jacket…sigh…) will be UNDER $50!!!

Gurung describes his collection to Elle.com: “The collection is inspired by a girl’s journey through the different stages of love and the clothes she wears during each milestone-from the initial first crush all the way to the engagement.”

Ah, beautiful! And perfect for the Valentine’s date, ladies!

I’ve been in awe of Prabal Gurung’s collections for a few seasons now: they embody a modern girl who is confident and, in a way, a heartbreaker! His designs are full of whimsical magic, and, quite honestly, they look like art! Believe me when I say I will camp out if I have to in order to get my hands on a Prabal Gurung piece WITHOUT paying the crazy heart-stopping designer price!

The collection hits Target stores on Feb. 10, so get ready, because this collection will not disappoint! (Photos courtesy of elle.com)
