Mason ranked among 150 top universities

George Mason University has been placed among the top 150 universities in the nation by the 2014 U.S. News & World Report college rankings.

The rankings, released Sept. 10, highlight several aspects of Mason, including average freshman retention rate, six year graduation rate and class size, to determine its score.

Mason was also ranked 72nd among top public schools in the nation. Three other Virginia universities, U.Va., Virginia Tech and the College of William & Mary, were featured on the list.

In 2013, Mason was ranked the number one up-and-coming university in the nation. This year, Mason is ranked sixth.
