Connect2Mason is George Mason University's student-run convergence project within the Office of Student Media. Our mission is to offer everything relevant to the life of a student, faculty or staff member at about Mason - as well as alumni and the greater Mason community - in one, easily accessible website. Our method is to bring you the best content from the campus student media groups, as well as create our own, and we love to showcase student work. As such, if you're wondering about news related to Mason, we hope to be your one-stop, reliable online resource.

The Connect2Mason Team

Executive Editor Kevin Loker is a junior undergraduate student at Mason, minoring in electronic journalism and majoring in anthropology. Kevin was previously involved with Student Media his freshman year as News Editor for Broadside, the university's student-run newspaper, and has also served as a DJ for Mason's WGMU radio station.
Starting this fall, Kevin will contribute monthly blog posts for USA TODAY College, writing commentary on technology's effect on campus life. He has also been selected to take part in the Online New Association's Student Newsroom at the organization's annual conference.
Outside of journalism, Kevin is an active member of Mason's Catholic Campus Ministry, as well the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, where he is a student disciple and plans the entertainment for GMU FOCUS's large events.

Senior News Editor for Student Life & Digest Yasmin Tadjdeh is a native Northern Virginian undergraduate student majoring in history with a minor in electronic journalism. Currently a junior, Yasmin has been an active member of Student Media throughout her college career. She first worked with Broadside, the university's student-run newspaper, as a reporter during her freshman year; in the fall of her sophomore year she stepped into the role of the assistant news editor of Broadside, and finally in the spring of 2010 she took the section's head position as news editor.
This past summer Yasmin worked with Patch, AOL's online hyperlocal news endeavor, interviewing and collecting information on businesses in Burke, Virginia to help create a comprehensive online directory.
Yasmin is an active member of GMU’s Catholic Campus Ministry, having recently gone through their R.C.I.A. program and receiving the sacrament of baptism in the spring of 2010.
Some interests of Yasmin’s include being a film junkie as well as being an avid paranormal enthusiast.

Senior News Editor for Off-Campus and Community Jordan Frasier is a junior undergraduate student at Mason, majoring in government and international politics with a minor in electronic journalism. After completing his freshman year at Mason, Jordan attended Clark College in Vancouver, Wash. where her served as editor-in-chief of The Independent. Now back at Mason, Jordan is excited to cover off-campus and community news for C2M.
Over the summer, Jordan served as Intern Web Producer for The Columbian, a daily newspaper in Vancouver, Wash., where he created video content for the paper’s website and contributed stories to the print edition. Previously, Jordan worked with the Seattle Times to help cover the 2009 presidential inauguration and volunteered for OregonMediaCentral.com, a media industry news site in Portland.
With the little time he spends outside of newsrooms, Jordan is a television junkie, but also loves to explore new places, dine with friends, and keep tabs on the world around him.

Broadside: Weekly print news. Its staff is committed to high standards of reporting conveyed in genuine, well-written prose.
WGMU: The pulse of Mason, the station for students with music in their veins. WGMU provides an eclectic collection of music presented by students and faculty from GMU.
Mason Cable Network: A television outlet run by the students, for the students. MCN gives Mason students what they want: informative, analytical, and entertaining programming.
VoxPop: This diversity magazine moves beyond multicultural bragging rights to let Mason students tell their own stories.
GMView: Senior Expressions and a 30-minute DVD capture the memory of Mason.
George Mason Review: This publication serves the Mason community by encouraging student writers to find their voices and by demonstrating to student readers that good writing matters.
Hispanic Culture Review: This publication discusses the culture, language, or literature of Spanish-speaking countries while maintaining high standards of form.
Phoebe: A publication that insists that reading can be both vigorously intellectual and entertaining, and the work it publishes succeeds on its own terms.
So To Speak: This publication addresses issues of significance to women's lives and movements for women's equality, particularly issues of race, class, and sexuality in relation to gender.

The Connect2Mason name cannot be used to endorse or promote a product, opinion or cause. Any promotion of the above must be identified as the commenter's own opinion and not that of Connect2Mason.
Content Ownership
Connect2Mason will not own user comments and/or content. Connect2Mason is not liable under any circumstances or in any way for any errors, omissions, losses or damages incurred as a result of user comments and/or content.
Reserved Rights
Connect2Mason reserves the right to remove its association/linkage to any comments and/or content that infringes on that discussed in the 'content restrictions' outlined above. Connect2Mason reserves the right to delete user comments and/or content that infringe upon that discussed in 'content restrictions.'
In cases where those who comment inappropriately and/or post inappropriate content repeatedly, Connect2Mason reserves the right to ban the user from using Connect2Mason. Both parties understand that those who comment and/or post content on Connect2Mason agree with this policy.
Those who comment and/or post content only gain access to the use of the system, and are not, by any virtue of the user relationship, members of the staff. Connect2Mason is the provider of the service, and along with any ownership, disclaims any control other than the control that could be exercised by a service provider. When and if the agreement terminates, in no event will the termination create liability for either party to the other.
