Mason celebrates Earth Week

George Mason University will continue its celebration of Earth Week until April 30. The “week,” which focuses around Earth Day on April 22, spans over a series of several weeks starting in March. The events aim to enlighten members of the community on environmental issues and demonstrate how everyone can help keep the planet healthy.

Events will include the 4th annual Bike to Mason Day and Environmental Expo tomorrow, April 21. On Earth Day itself, students will be able to participate in an open mic featuring artist V at the Johnson Center Bistro from 6 - 8 p.m..

Next week, Daejayon, a student group that focuses on the environment, will be hosting a fashion show that features models wearing exclusively recycled materials such as garbage bags, newspapers and plastic bottles. The event will take place on the Quad from 7 – 9 p.m. on April 28. Donations are required for admission.
