Thanksgiving Break 2011 schedule changes

Many university services and facilities will be operating under special hours during Thanksgiving Break, Wed. Nov. 23 until Sunday, Nov. 27. Below is a list of several of these services and their revised schedules.

Dining

Most on-campus dining options will be closed for the entirety of Thanksgiving Break, with only Burger King, Sub Connection, Mein Bowl, La Pat, and Express in the Johnson Center open during select hours.  All on-campus dining will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25.  Southside, Starbucks, and the One Stop Patriot Shop will reopen at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Transportation

All shuttle services will be unavailable from Thursday Nov. 24 through Saturday Nov. 26.  The Prince William-Fairfax shuttles, Campus Circulator, and West Campus Express will resume regular service on Monday, Nov. 28.  The Mason to Metro shuttles and Gunston Go-Bus will resume regular service on Sunday, Nov. 27.

Parking and Transportation Services has arranged for free shuttles to ferry students between the Fairfax Campus and Dulles Airport.  The shuttle will be available to pick up riders at Sandy Creek at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22 and 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23.  It will be stopping at Dulles Airport to take students back to campus at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27.  Students must have registered by Sunday, Nov. 20 to make use of this service.

Libraries

The Johnson Center and Fenwick Libraries will be open until 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 23 respectively, and will be closed from Thursday Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25.  They will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26.

Housing

All RA desks will be operating under the normal 24 hours schedule for the duration of Thanksgiving Break.

Health Services

The Fairfax Campus Clinic will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, but will be closed Thursday Nov. 24 through Saturday Nov. 26.

Athletic Facilities

The Aquatic and Fitness center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, but will resume normal hours the next day.

The RAC gym will be open until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, Friday Nov. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 26.  It will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24.

Skyline will be closed from Wednesday Nov. 24 through Saturday Nov, 26, but will be open from 3 p.m. to midnight on Sunday, Nov. 27.
