Students take part in annual Patriot's Day

Students packed the Quad between Fenwick and Student Union Building I on Friday afternoon, celebrating George Mason University’s annual Patriot’s Day.

Participants were treated to free pizza, popcorn, smoothies and cotton candy. Additionally, students were able to take part in a variety of activities, from fortune telling, to a moon bounce, to a mechanical bull all while listening to bands playing live.

Hispanic Heritage Month kicked off today at North Plaza with “Bienvenida Latina,” an event hosted by the Hispanic Student Association featuring music, dance performances, as well as meet and greets with Hispanic organizations. The heritage month will run from Sept. 15 to Friday, Oct. 22.

Move-in process tweaked

This week hundreds of returning students and nearly 2,000 freshmen moved into the dormitories at George Mason University.

PAB expansion complete, open for fall semester

Cross off another construction project. Students returning to school this fall will feast their eyes on the completed expansion of the Performing Arts Building on Mason’s Fairfax campus.

The addition adds two dance studios, a large lobby, locker room, an instrument rehearsal hall, percussion room, and a wellness room as well as many other spaces, Project Manager Nancy Pickens said.
