Students raise $1,400 for cancer research

A group of George Mason University students in the Management 463 “Negotiations in Organizations” class were able to collect $1,400 dollars for cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The members, Ben Welicka, Sammy Kassim and Maryann Shih, all senior management majors, were assigned a charity to assist as part of the class and through campaigning organizations and businesses, were able to collect $1,300 from just GMU groups.

VoxPop Rocks! to debut at Mason

VoxPop Rocks!, the latest installment of the Office of Student Media’s magazine, hits Mason today. The magazine looks to guide readers into the elaborate music scene of the Washington, D.C. metro region. From music venues, to bands, to interviews, VoxPop Rocks! touches on the growing community of musicians and artists in George Mason University’s backyard.

Fire burnin', fire burnin' in the fake dorm

Fires in dormitories are rare occasions, but for students in President’s Park a mock dorm burn showed the reality of such an event.

The Environmental Health and Safety Office celebrated their Life Safety Fair, and with it came their annual dorm burn, on Monday. The mock dorm room was lit ablaze to show how quickly a fire can begin and consume a room.
