The Only wins this year's Battle of the Bands

Program Board held their annual Battle of the Bands on April 19, where participating bands vied for a spot on the main stage at this year’s Mason Day concert on April 29.

Although the event saw only a handful of attendees, those who came were treated to riffs and tunes from the various bands.

Polish philharmonic to perform at Mason

The Center for the Arts will receive a visit from Opole, Philharmonic of Poland on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m..

Music will include works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Frédéric Chopin. The orchestra is one of Poland’s leading philharmonics and has performed for the Vatican, as well as received awards such as the State Award for Arts Excellence by the Polish ministry of culture.

Local music scene members sit down for round table discussion

In a round table discussion about the Washington D.C. metropolitan area music scene, members of such local bands as The Independent, The Automatics and former members of other bands as well as regular concertgoers and venue employees talked about their views and experiences.

The magazine looks to guide readers into the elaborate music scene of the Washington, D.C. metro region.
