Resolution to allow faculty input in presidential search passes Faculty Senate

The resolution that would allow faculty to have input on the final candidates for the presidential search, if approved by the Presidential Search Committee, passed the Faculty Senate Wednesday with a vote of 31-2; and will be given to the committee in the coming days.

Faculty express concern, propose resolution for more open presidential search

The selection of Mason’s next president is concerning some university faculty as the search committee calls for confidentiality in part of the process. The Faculty Senate will vote this Wednesday, Nov. 9 on a recently proposed resolution calling for a more open search.

UPDATE: Ten new SG Senators elected Wednesday evening

Ballots for the Student Government Senate fall election went out Monday to students by e-mail and according to the Chairman of the Elections and Dispute Commission, turnout has been high so far.

The election is for 10 new senate positions in Student Government. The candidates are all either freshman or transfer students.

Voting opened online Monday and will end at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

‘President search’ narrowing to three to five candidates by January, says committee chair

The search committee has announced they will be sending the final three-to-five candidates to the Board of Visitors between December and January.
