New university policy regulates campus utility vehicles

The many golf carts zipping around campus are now being officially regulated for the first time thanks to the new University Policy 1131. The new policy, enacted earlier this month, covers the use of motorized utility vehicles (MUVs) on campus, including golf carts. MUVs, which are plentiful at  Mason, are vehicles that are not licensed by the State and not intended for road use. The policy covers the purchase, operation and maintenance of MUVs on campus.  

Administration officials set demolition of Robinson Hall as high priority

The deliberation is complete: Robinson Hall is in desperate need of an upgrade.

According to Provost Peter Stearns, the Robinson project is based largely on the fact that the building is outdated.

Student-run websites provide alternatives to find dining and laundry availability

If time is money, then these three students are out to save a couple bucks.

Tyler Hallada, Garrett McNamara and Aaron Hunter have created alternatives to Mason Dining’s Hours of Operation and eSuds websites in order to quickly convey information to busy students.

Hallada, a junior at Northeastern University and former Mason student, created GMU Laundry, a website that provides washer and dryer availability details for Mason’s laundry rooms.
