Mason Ke Rang dance team is anything but normal

Mason Ke Rang is anything but your average dance team. This past week Connect2Mason was able to sit in on one of the team’s practices. Within the first 10 seconds anyone would be hooked.

Mason Ke Rang claimed first place at last year’s International Week Dance Competition, coming in as an underdog as their first year competing. MKR proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with by surpassing the expectations of the competition and challenging the traditional norms of dance within the Mason community.

A look into Mason's 2013 International Week

Hot on the heels of Pride Week, George Mason University will host International Week – a weeklong series of events that aim to celebrate the diversity of Mason students and faculty. From Monday, April 8 to Friday, April 12, there will be dozens of events on the Fairfax campus that help remind students of their membership in a global community.

2013 Dance Concert Gala brings back Mason graduate

This weekend George Mason University will host the 2013 Mason Dance Company Gala Concert. The Gala is a two-day event, taking place on Friday, March 22 and Saturday March 23 at Mason’s Center for the Arts.

This is the 17th year that the Gala will be presented by the School of Dance. It is a culmination of several months of hard work and planning on the part of the choreographers, performers and instructors that participate in the performances.

Famed flamenco guitarist comes to GMU's Center for the Arts

World famous flamenco guitarist, Paco Peña will be performing at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts on Friday, Feb.

Arts by George! provides an evening like no other

In its seventh year, Mason’s annual Arts by George! event was held on September 29 in the Center for Performing Arts, the Delaski Performing Arts Building, Harris Theater, as well as outside by the Mason statue. The event involved students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the outside community.

Brian Marcus, associate dean of development for the College of Visual and Performing Arts, said that “the whole idea [of the event] is to bring the arts at Mason into the community to support students in school.”

Flash mob hits Johnson Center [VIDEO]

Those on the three main levels of George Mason University’s Johnson Center were shaken from their routine earlier this month when a flash mob ensued following a student who climbed a table and began dancing to “Moves Like Jagger.”
