Heavy traffic expected for high school graduations

Yay! Traffic!

Share your story: snow lows

When George Mason University announced classes were canceled on Wednesday afternoon, students, faculty and staff scrambled to get home. However, most found unparalleled traffic and gridlock, with some citing commutes of seven hours or more—some even being stranded all together.

Campus connection is topic of work session tonight

Options for connecting the east and west parts of Mason’s Fairfax campus will be at the center of a work session tonight with the Fairfax City Council and university representatives.

The session is billed as an outreach to the community about the proposed traffic changes.

Two 4-way stops added for heavy foot traffic around Patriot Circle

Drivers and pedestrian beware. Keep your eyes peeled for new traffic patterns along George Mason University’s Patriot Circle. At the Patriot Circle intersections of York River Road as well as Mattaponi River Lane, new 4-way stops have been added to enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
