[VIDEO] Washington Wizards host season tip-off at Patriot Center

The Washington Wizards held their fan event, Wizards Tip-Off on Tuesday night at the Patriot Center. The team held an open practice and scrimmage for Mason students and the surrounding community, giving all in the attendance a glimpse into what to expect from a young and upcoming team. The event saw appearances from the Wizards Girls, G-Wiz, the Power Pack and the Secret Service Dunk Squad along with a performance by DC-native rapper Wale.

Wale performs at the Patriot Center

Wale, Washington D.C.’s hip-hop golden boy, visited the Patriot Center Thursday, September 20. Even after signing under Miami-based Maybach music group and producer Rick Ross, Wale continues to stick close to his hometown by performing regularly around the D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia area. Wale’s performance on Thursday was the only stop in the DMV area. 

Wale headlines GMU fall concert

Tickets for D.C.-based rapper Wale went on sale Monday at the Patriot Center and the Office of Student Involvement. He will be performing at the Patriot Center on September 20th. Wale first came to the George Mason in 2008 where he performed a free concert for students in Dewberry Hall as part of Homecoming Week. He has since performed at arena venues such as the Verizon Center in D.C. and Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland.
