2014 Homecoming Week events preview

Taking the torch from the Sochi Olympics, Mason wants you to bring home the green and gold for Homecoming Week. With friendly competitions, blocks parties, and a variety of special events, you have plenty of accessible opportunities to express your Patriot pride every day this week.

Trivia Night
February 12 – The Rathskellar (SUB 1) – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Test your knowledge against your friends and fellow Mason community members for great prizes in Homecoming’s Olympic themed trivia night! This event is perfect for students looking for a free, on-campus option to celebrate Mason.

Homecoming at Prince William County Campus
February 13 – Bull Run Hall Atrium – 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

Patriot pride is not exclusive to the Fairfax campus. Mason is celebrating Homecoming week on the Prince William County Campus with a day filled with arcade games, give-a-ways, a photo booth and a visit from the Patriot. Students and faculty will also have the opportunity to try out Mum-Mum, a Thai food restaurant that will soon have a permanent location on the Fairfax campus. For graduate students over 21, there will be a Happy Hour at Hard Times in Manassas, starting at 5:00pm.

Lip Sync Competition
February 13 – HUB Ballroom – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Join the Patriot Homecoming tradition and watch the annual Lip-Syncing Competition. Various participating groups test their lip-syncing and dancing abilities in front of the Mason community. The Homecoming committee recommends arriving early to get a good seat because this event promises a fun time!

Annual Pep Rally
February 14 – Johnson Center Atrium – 8 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.

Get pumped for Mason’s Homecoming game with special performances, appearances and games at the Annual Pep Rally. Following last year’s success, the pep rally will be participating in “Mason’s Favorite Things” giveaway. You never know what kind of prizes will be given away.

Women’s Basketball vs. St. Joseph’s
Feb 15 - Patriot Center - 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Annual Homecoming Block Party
February 15 - Parking Lot K - 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Men's Basketball vs. St. Bonaventure
February 15 - Patriot Center - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
