Selective withdrawal deadline this Friday

This Friday is the deadline to register for selective withdrawal from a spring semester course.

Students are given a maximum of three selective withdrawals in their time at Mason. A withdrawal allows a student to drop a class with no consequences; and the class will be counted as attempted hours.

The class comes up as a “W” for withdrawal on a student’s transcript. Attempted hours are used to determine a student’s credit level and GPA standards for figuring academic standing.

The only impact a withdrawal could have would be if a student has a GPA below 2.00, then the withdrawal may affect whether a student is on warning, probation, suspension or dismissal.

The deadline is at 5:00 p.m. this Friday and applications to submit a withdrawal form can be found here. No late submissions will be accepted and students must fill out the application and submit to the Registrar’s Office in Student Union Building I Room 2101.
