Singer-songwriter Andy Grammer headlines Mason Day 2013

If you’ve tuned into the radio at all these past few months, you’ve most likely heard of singer-songwriter Andy Grammer. With his popular, catchy songs such as “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine By Me,” Grammer is headlining at this year’s Mason Day. Grammer's music is reminiscent of acts such as Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz.

Mason Day concludes a week’s worth of events that celebrates the end of another school year at George Mason University. Setup in the Patriot Center’s parking lot, Mason Day marks it’s 48th year and includes carnival rides and activities, and will be held on Friday, April 26 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Based in Los Angeles,  Grammer picked up his first guitar in ninth grade and quickly taught himself how to play and began to write music. Influenced by artists such as Lauryn Hill, Coldplay and John Mayer, Grammer has found success in radio, where his single “Keep Your Head Up” is certified Gold. Grammer was also named  Billboard’s 2011 Artists to Watch.

Grammer’s music is emblematic of acts such as Gavin DeGraw, with easy going pop lyrics perfect for a spring day in Fairfax to end the school year. Having toured with the likes of Taylor Swift, Train, Mat Kearney and former Mason day performers Plain White T’s, Grammer is headlining his own tour with a stop at Mason.

Mason students can be admitted for free with a Mason ID, allowing them into the concert the day of. Andy Grammer will be performing at 7 p.m. after his opening act Parachute, performs 6 p.m.
