[PREVIEW] After 20-point loss to Northeastern, Mason aims to get back on track vs. Drexel

Reeling from a lopsided loss to Northeastern on Sunday night, the George Mason men's basketball team returns home in the hopes of getting back on track against Drexel University.

The Dragons have performed below their lofty preseason expectations of finishing first in the Colonial Athletic Association. An injury to starting guard Chris Fouch and a slow start to the season threw a wrench into the Dragons' plans. However, they are still well in the hunt, currently sitting at seventh in the conference.

Top Returners

Damion Lee -- Sophomore -- Guard

The Dragons' leading scorer (17.2 points per game) is as hot as he's been all season. Last week, Lee scored 20 points vs. Georgia State and a career-high 30 points vs. Delaware. He is one of the top scorers in the conference as a sophomore and has an uncanny ability to create his own shot, shooting 43 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc. I'm looking forward to the matchup of Lee and Sherrod Wright the most, both who are in the top five of the CAA in scoring.

Frantz Massenat -- Junior -- Guard

Along with Lee, the Dragons have another viable scoring threat in Massenat, who averages 17.1 points per game. Massenat is an improved shooter and can provide fits for opponents who are challenged with the task to guard him. He was a first team all-CAA member and led the conference in three-point percentage last season. When both he and Lee are on the floor together, the Patriots will need to account for their prowess and prevent the two Dragons from enforcing their will on the game.

Key Additions

Tavon Allen -- Redshirt Freshman -- Forward

After suffering an injury in the preseason last season, Allen sat out his freshman year with a medical redshirt and has made great strides in the first half of this season. He is averaging 7.4 points per game for the Dragons and will only increase that production with more playing time.
