Long before the shadows of Founders Hall were cast towards George Mason University’s graduate campus on Fairfax Drive, there stood a rectangular red brick building serving as a central part of Mason’s Arlington campus. The Arlington Original Building as it is still called, was a Kann’s department store prior to becoming home to many of Mason’s academic programs.

WAVES sends students off with tips to keep safe over spring break

While Spring Break can be fun and relaxing, it can prove to be dangerous to some college students. WAVES held safety awareness events during the week of March 2 to help prepare students for Spring Break.

One of the events was called “Sex on the Beach.” Named after the fruity cocktail, Sex on the Beach was an informative event that discussed the dangers of mixing alcohol with sexual activity. According to statistics, 50 to 72 percent of sexual assault perpetrators were under the influence of alcohol in sexual assault cases amongst college students.

Imagine receiving the brunt end of a fiery debate that rocks the foundation of American higher education to its core and you are just months removed from high school and had no prior hand in the debate.

Add in the fact that rules were implemented for your current organization by an outside organization that is preventing you from turning professional, forcing you to join said current organization, and you have thousands of men who are labeled as coddled and not deserving of fame.

Men's basketball's frustrating season continues with second loss to George Washington

With three seconds remaining in the first half of Sunday’s Atlantic 10 matchup between Mason and George Washington at the Charles E. Smith Center, head coach Paul Hewitt called a timeout to set up a possible game tying play just minutes after blowing a six-point lead.

Marko Gujanicic inbounded the ball to Byron Allen who raced up the court and found a wide-open Patrick Holloway already cocked in-stance, ready to hit a long range jumper.

Instead, the ball went directly through the sophomore’s hands and out of bounds to end the first half.

Hartford Hawks top Mason baseball 4-3 in game 3, but Patriots take series 2-1 over weekend

The Hartford Hawks defeated the Mason baseball team today 4-3 in 12 innings. The rain, which started in the 8th inning, did not stop these teams from finishing this one off.

Hartford outfielder Ryan Lukach drove in the game-winning run with a short fly ball over the outstretched glove of Mason’s Tucker Tobin. The Patriots had a chance in the bottom of the 12th when Ray Toto reached base. A fly ball to right field ended their hopes to win the game but they still took the weekend series 2-1.
