Preview of Mason Earth Week 2013

Established nearly 43 years ago, Earth Month began because of the urgings of Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson, who believed that grassroots environmental activism was capable of causing lasting change. Now, Earth Month is celebrated all over the world, with associated festivities and activism usually concluding on April 22.

At George Mason University, Earth Month activities are promoted with sustainability events throughout the entirety of April, but with special events hosted the fourth week of the month. Many of the Earth Week events are hosted by Mason’s Office of Sustainability (OoS).

A look into Mason's 2013 International Week

Hot on the heels of Pride Week, George Mason University will host International Week – a weeklong series of events that aim to celebrate the diversity of Mason students and faculty. From Monday, April 8 to Friday, April 12, there will be dozens of events on the Fairfax campus that help remind students of their membership in a global community.

2013 Dance Concert Gala brings back Mason graduate

This weekend George Mason University will host the 2013 Mason Dance Company Gala Concert. The Gala is a two-day event, taking place on Friday, March 22 and Saturday March 23 at Mason’s Center for the Arts.

This is the 17th year that the Gala will be presented by the School of Dance. It is a culmination of several months of hard work and planning on the part of the choreographers, performers and instructors that participate in the performances.

Mason's Swing Dance Club brings a slice of the past
